Chieftainess Lesa of the Lamba people in Mpongwe District on the Copperbelt Province has called for heightened security measures to protect property at Mpongwe Mission Hospital. Her Royal Highness emphasized the need for a boundary wall fence to safeguard the facility's equipment.
She made these remarks during a donation ceremony where Josephine Musokoshi Roberts and Nigel Higgins from Wales, United Kingdom, donated hospital equipment valued at over £12,000.
Ms. Roberts expressed optimism that the equipment would greatly benefit the people of Mpongwe and neighboring areas.
She also encouraged Zambians in the diaspora to contribute to the welfare of their homeland.
Additionally, Public Service Pension Fund Board Chairperson John Kasanga announced the donation of mattresses and paint by the institution to support the hospital's needs.
Mr. Kasanga also disclosed that PSPF has decided to adopt Mpongwe Mission hospital as a corporate social Responsibility.
And Hospital Medical Officer in - Charge Dr. Henry Silavwe appreciated the gesture that the team has rendered to the facility, stating that the equipment will improve service delivery and motivate members of staff.
