A serious shortage of drugs has hit Chongwe clinic forcing health personnel to send back patients after issuing them with prescriptions.
Ms Anna Tembo has disclosed to a Komboni radio news crew that visited the district today that for the past two weeks, the health centre has not had essential drugs except pain killers such as Panado among others.
Another resident Loveness Banda said the lack of drugs at Chongwe health centre is getting out of hand and appealed to the ministry of health to address the matter and restock the clinic with the necessary drugs.
Meanwhile, the residents have also bemoaned the dilapidated state of the road leading to the health centre and called on the authorities to upgrade it to acceptable standards.
