Women in Mandevu compound have complained over the so much talked about women empowerment programs saying they are not accessing these funds.
A trader only identified as Catherine said some people have been collecting money from marketeers on the pretext that they will be given soft loans under the presidential empowerment fund.
Catherine added that traders were also asked to pay a K30 fee to open up accounts so that the money can be deposited there but that it has been over 6 months with no response.
Mandevu women have since appealed to their area Member of parliament Jean Kapata to move in and assist the women to access loans to boost their business .
