Zambians for Empowerment and Development (ZED) Party says it is disappointment with the failure by the Lusaka City Council Fire Brigade to contain the inferno that gutted the Bible House building yesterday.
ZED spokesperson Wesley Miyanda says it is unfortunate that fire fighters from the council struggled to put out the fire due to inadequate firefighting equipment.
Mr Miyanda has since called on government to invest more resources in the fire brigade departments to ensure that more advanced firefighting equipments are procured.
He has also recommended that government should attach the fire brigade to the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) to enhance better service delivery.
Yesterday, Bible house situated along Freedom way was gutted by fire destroying property worth thousands of Kwacha belonging to Bible Society of Zambia and some auto Shops operating from the same building.
And onlookers who were found at the scene by a Komboni radio news crew that rushed there also expressed disappointment with the lack of advanced firefighting equipments by the local authority.
