ZDDM TO DEMAND FOR THE RECALL OF THE CONSTITUTION

The Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) is elated that the opposition UPND has finally agreed to be part of a locally led National Dialogue process.

ZDDM Vice President Charles Kafumbo says the party is also excited that President Edgar Lungu has asked the Zambia Centre for Inter-Party Dialogue (ZCID) to find space for the Church to play a role in the national dialogue process.

Mr Kafumbo tells Komboni Radio News that his party has always advocated for an all inclusive national dialogue to discuss challenges facing the nation especially those that arose after the 2016 general elections.

And Mr Kafumbo has charged that a locally driven dialogue process is the only way the country can prove that it is mature enough to resolve its political differences among other challenges.

And the ZDDM Vice President has disclosed that his party will propose for the recall of the Republican constitution at the fourth coming Secretary General’s meeting slated for the 14th of June 2018.

Mr Kafumbo also revealed that ZDDM will also demand for the setting up of a popular constitution assembly to look at matters arising from the amended constitution and adopt the constitution.
