ZANAMACA CALLS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A SOCIAL CASH SECURITY SCHEME

BY MONDE PHIRI

The Zambia National Marketeers Credit Association (ZANAMACA) has called for the establishment of a social security scheme that will allow those in the informal sector such as the marketeers to have long-term savings.

ZANAMACA president Frank Kameya says having a social security scheme for those in the informal sector will enable them to acquire savings that they can use to sustain themselves once they are out of business.

Mr. Kameya told komboni radio news that the association has been trying to engage with NAPSA on the need for a social security Scheme for the informal sector to be established.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kameya says ZANAMACA will also continue to carry out capacity building for marketeers including those in ungazetted markets through financial literacy programmes.

He added that ZA-NA-MACA has also partnered with some financial institutions which are disbursing loans to  allow marketeers expand their businesses.
