ZANACO Head COACH NUMBA MUMAMBA SAYS HIS TEAM IS READY FOR THIS WEEKEND’S CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIRST ROUND, FIRST LEG QUALIFIER MATCH AGAINST APR OF RWANDA.
Speaking in an interview yesterday shortly after the friendly game was interrupted against Ngezi platinum of Zimbabwe due to heavy rains that left the Nkoloma stadium water logged, Mumbamba expressed confidence that his side will carry the day when they play host to the Rwandans champions.
Mumamba however expressed disappointment that the friendly match against the Zimbabwean side was abandoned following heavy rains.
And the Zanaco head coach says the departure of most players who helped the team win the league last season will not affect his team’s performance in the champion’s league.
Meanwhile, Ngezi platinum coach Gift Muzazi has tipped Zanaco to qualify to the group stage of the CAF Champions league.
Muzazi, who described the Interruption of the friendly match against the Zambian champions as unfortunate, said Zanaco has got what it takes to qualify to the group stage.
The match between ZANACO and Ngezi platinum was abandoned at half time due to a water logged pitch.
The playing surface became unplayable after a heavy downpour midway through the first half.
