A concerned resident has advised Zambians not to approve the exit from the International Criminal Court (ICC) as directed by the African Union.
Vincent Kazhila says most African states and Zambia in particular have weak democratic systems adding that pulling out of the ICC will promote injustice among political leaders.
Mr. Kazhila who is also a political science scholar has observed that ICC is the anchor of justice adding that most African leaders calling for the withdraw of the AU member states from the Hague are those that want to hold on to power.
And governance activist Leslie Chikuse has charged that it is immature for some stakeholders to call for the withdrawal of Zambia’s membership from the ICC.
Mr Chikuse has told Komboni Radio news that the withdrawal from the ICC maybe seen by some people as a maneuver by the PF government to run away from the electoral petition by the UPND.
He notes that the withdrawal of the country’s membership from the ICC will only promote injustice by most African leaders.
