ZABS ENGAGE HPCZ ON CALIBRATION OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS

 

The Zambia Bureau of Standards has initiated talks with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) to explore possibilities of enhancing collaborations between the two regulators to ensure that health institutions in the country calibrate their medical instruments with ZABS.

ZABS Head of Marketing of Public Relations Hazel Zulu who confirmed the development stated that the periodic calibration of medical instruments can enhance accuracy in measurements thereby promoting efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of health care services.

Mrs Zulu says her organization is hopeful that the partnership will promote the use calibration services in the country and improve the quality of health care services provided to the public.

She named some of the instruments used in medical facilities that ZABS is currently able to calibrate as analytical balances, Micro pipettes, blood pressure monitors and pressure gauges among others.
