YOUNG AFRICAN LEADERS INITIATIVE (YALI) has commended government for the construction of a solar plant in Kafue saying once the project is completed it will contribute towards addressing the current energy.

Speaking in an interview with komboni radio, YALI president Andrew Ntewewe said that the opening of a solar energy plant in Kafue will     create employment opportunities especially for the youths.

Mr. Ntewewe further observed that the increased energy production will also help boost economic activities that had slowed down due to country’s power deficits.

Meanwhile the construction of the 54 megawatt solar power plant in kafue at the cost of which US$60 million, is being constructed by an Indian firm Sterling and Wilson.
