A critical water shortage has hit Marapodi market forcing traders to walk long distances in search of the commodity.

The traders have complained that they are forced to walk as far as Chaisa compound to fetch water for use at the market especially for those running restaurants in the market.

And Jonas Chibuye has attributed the erratic water supply being experienced in the market to the works being carried out by the Lusaka water and sewerage company.

Mr Chibuye has however expressed hope that water supply will normalize once the replacement of old water pipes has been completed.
