A critical water shortage has hit Lusaka’s John Laing compound forcing residents to cover long distances in search of the commodity.

Residents of Sakala area in that community who were found drawing water at the Kiosk have told Komboni radio news that the water shortage has been caused by the removal of taps which were installed by Care international.

The residents have since appealed to the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit (DMMU) to provide Water Bulzers in that area to mitigate the water shortages.

And efforts to get a comment from the area councilor proved futile by broadcast time.
