VEEP VISITS LATE LUSAKA MAYOR WILSON KALUMBA’S FUNERAL HOUSE

Former Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata joined people from all walks of life in sending messages of condolences to the family of late Lusaka Mayor Wilson Kalumba who died yesterday after an illness.

Mr. Sata who joined other mourners at the funeral house in Lusaka’s Northmead area has described Mr. Kalumba as a hardworking man who was committed to improving efficiency in the operations at the Lusaka City Council LCC.

And Mufulira Mayor Dr. Chapa Mushinge said Mr. Kalumba will be remembered for his committed to setting up systems within the local authority that aimed at improving financial management among other issues.

Dr. Mushinge added that the deceased mayor was an intelligent man whose great ideas could have transformed Lusaka City.

And Kalulushi Mayor Rashida Mulenga stressed that Mr. Kalumba’s death has left a gap in the Local Government Association and that he will be missed for having been a leader who stood for what was right.

 

Meanwhile Vice president Inonge Wina this morning visited the funeral house to console the bereaved family.

The vice President who was accompanied by Local government Minister Vincent Mwale also signed a book of condolences that has been opened at Mr. Kalumba’s residence.

And Transport and Communication Minister Brian Mushimba who also visited the funeral house said the death of Mr. Kalumba has left a gap in the ruling PF and the local government.
