The opposition United Party for National Development-UPND has described as shameful the move by the 17 PF Members of Parliament on the Copperbelt to endorse the candidature of President Edgar Lungu for 2021 elections.
And UPND Northern Province member of the mobilization committee, Everist Chela has cautioned law makers in the region against falling in what he termed the trap of unnecessary endorsements.
Mr. Chela questioned the move saying it leaves much to be desired adding that the lawmakers should have instead directed their energies to try and find solutions to problems affecting Zambians.
And Mr. Chela has since implored members of parliament in Northern Province not to emulate what their counterparts on the Copperbelt did.
He stated that this is not the right time to endorse the candidature of who will stand in 2021 considering what the nation is going through in terms of many social and economic problems.
