UNZA RETIREES PROTEST DEMANDING TO BE PAID THEIR RETIREMENT PACKAGES

BY KALALUKA MUSHAUKWA

University of Zambia-UNZA Retirees have continued to press management to pay them their retirement packages.

The former UNZA workers who stormed the UNZA Great East Road Campus today have vowed that they will not rest until management pays them the money they have worked for.

UNZA retirees Chairperson Japhet Wandila has stressed that the former workers will continue to put pressure on Management as they have waited for too long and some of their colleagues have since passed.

And a Mrs Maggie Lumba also a University of Zambia retiree says it is sad that the university management has failed to pay its former workers for over seven years now.

She pleaded with the UNZA management and government to quickly pay the retirees as they are failing to provide for their families.

The University of Zambia management owes the over 1000 former employees about 320 million Kwacha.
