Residents of Lusaka’s Zingalume compound this morning woke up to a rude shock when they discovered a day old baby dumped in the area.
Eye witnesses have narrated to a Komboni Radio News crew that rushed to the scene that the newly born baby was discovered dead wrapped in a Chitenge material by passersby.
And the angry residents have called upon the police to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the culprit is brought to book.
They charged that it is unfortunate that young girls have continued to engage in illicit sex when they are not ready to keep children.
By Press time the body of the baby had already been picked up by the police.
