UNKNOWN PEOPLE BREAK INTO THE PROVINCIAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICES IN CHOMA

Unknown people recently broke into the Provincial Community Development offices in Choma District and stole property worth thousands of Kwacha.

ZANIS in Choma reports that Provincial Community Development officer Patrick Phiri who confirmed the theft in an interview explained that unknown people broke into the accountant’s and his office and got away with two lap tops last weekend.

One of the laptops worth about eight thousand kwacha stolen belongs to the Girls Education Women Empowerment project (GEWEL) while the other was a personal laptop worth three thousand kwacha.

Mr. Phiri stated that the matter has been reported to the police and a docket has been opened and the department is just waiting for a full report after investigations are concluded.

He added that security measures have since been tightened following the theft.
