TWO WOMEN IN CHIPATA NABBED FOR TRAFFICKING IN COCAINE

The Drug Enforcement Commission in Eastern Province has arrested two persons for trafficking in various quantities of cocaine.
The two are identified as Fanny Zulu, 25, a businesswoman and proprietor of Chillax Pub jointly charged with Helen Mvula, 65, both of House number 67, Hollywood compound in Chipata District.
The duo has been charged with trafficking in six sachets of cocaine.
DEC Public Relations Officer Theresa Katongo also tells Komboni Radio News that the Commission through its Anti-money Laundering Investigations Unit in Chipata has further charged one of the suspects, Fanny Zulu, for money laundering and being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime, contrary to the laws of Zambia.
Ms Katongo says various items have since been seized from the suspect.
Meanwhile, the Commission in Lusaka has arrested Joseph Chizala, 37, a business man of Marapodi compound for trafficking in ninety-six (96) sachets of heroin.
He was arrested in Matero Township during an operation conducted in the area.
And the Commission in Central Province has arrested Tenepas Mweetwa, a small-scale farmer of Chinkumbi Village in Liteta area for trafficking in 4×50 Kg bags and 8 packs of loose cannabis weighing a total of 207 Kgs.
The suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in court soon.
