TWO CONVICTED FOR THROWING STONES AT COUNCIL POLICE OFFICERS

The Lusaka Fast Truck Court has convicted two male adults for destructing Lusaka City Council police officers while they were carrying out their duties.

Council public relations officer Brenda Katongola disclosed that two people have been convicted after throwing stones at council officers who went to carry out their duties in Kamwala trading center.

Ms Mashikolo says the two individuals with one who has been identified as Webby Siame aged 42 of Mtendere compound have been charged with distraction of duties by public officers.

She also disclosed that one convict has been fined an amount of K200 and two weeks in imprisonment for being part of the crowd that was throwing stones at public officers in Kamwala.

The Council Public Relations Officer also disclosed that people who were caught vending in the Central Business District have also been charged and fined at the fast track court.

Ms Mashikolo has since warned that anyone who will be found vending will face the wrath of the law.
