TRADITIONAL LEADERS APPEAL TO GOVERNMENT TO ENACT A LAW BANNING INDECENT DRESSING

Traditional leaders in Northern Province are appealing to the government to consider enacting the law aimed at banning indecent dressing in public.
The traditional leaders feel that the law once enacted would compel the women-folk to start dressing decently.
Speaking through Lupiya Village Headman of Mungwi, Joseph Langashi, the traditional leaders observed that Zambia is a Christian Nation and people should learn to live like children of God.
Recently, Minister for National Guidance and Religious Affairs, Reverend Godfridah Sumaili said government has no intention to regulate the dress code in the nation.
Reverend Sumaili said her ministry cannot regulate what people wear charging that it has to begin with families adding that people should consider dressing modestly in a bid to actualize the nation’s Christianity.
