Organised Vendors and Traders Multi-Purpose cooperative society has called on street vendors across the country to recognize and align themselves with the association.
Association Secretary General Kedrick Siame says registering with the association is the only way vendors can resolve issues affecting them.
Mr Siame has assured vendors that his organization has placed itself in a position where it will protect traders both from cadres and those in need of trading space through advocating for better markets.
Meanwhile, association Deputy Chairman Jeffrey Katoposha has called on traders to embrace the Make Zambia Clean campaign that was recently launched by President Edgar Lungu.
Mr Katoposha appealed to the traders not to leave it up to the city council to clean up trading places but take it upon themselves and ensure that their surroundings are kept clean.
