TRADERS IN MISISI COMPOUND BEMOAN THE DEMOLITION OF THEIR STORES

BY RUTH MUMBA
Traders in Misisi’s malasha area have complained bitterly over the demolition of their makeshift stores by suspected cadres.
The traders complained that bus drivers and cadres want to evict them from the place they claimed to have been trading from for over ten years as they want to turn the place into a road to avoid traffic.
One of the traders who declined to be named charged that traders were yesterday harassed and beaten up after they resisted to move from the land in question by a gang of suspected cadres.
The traders further alleged that they were later taken to the police by the cadres where they were allegedly charged on flimsy charges.
The traders have since called upon the area councilor to intervene in the matter.
