TEACHER ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN K44, 000 LOAN USING FAKE NRC

Police in Mazabuka have arrested a teacher from Kazungula in what is believed to be an emerging cartel of fraudsters using other people’s identity to obtain money.

According to an Investigation, Christopher Mangala (36) was arrested on Friday after attempting to obtain a loan worth over K40, 000 from Bayport Financial Services in Mazabuka with his colleague’s stolen identity.

Mangala is further reported to have presented a pre – approval form with a fake stamp for Kazungula District Education Board, in addition to forging a signature of one of the signatories at the board.

The scam was unearthed after verifications of the approved loan by officers from the financial institution revealed that the man who is a fraudster is currently on the run from Livingstone.

And Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Bonny Kapeso who confirmed the developed says the teacher from Kazungula’s Malowa Primary school stole his colleague’s National Registration Card and attempted to steal money using his details.
