An unidentified man believed to be in his sixties was this morning lynched by angry residents of Banda-Masauko area after they suspected him of practicing witchcraft.
It is reported that the unidentified man was found bathing naked outside one of the households in the community before an angry mob pounced on him.
Andrew Sinkala who witnessed the incident narrated to a Komboni Radio News Crew that rushed to the community that the suspected wizard was found by the owner of the house bathing inside the yard with water mixed with what looked like charms.
Sinkala explained that the man in question decided to run away but was later apprehended by alert members of the community.
By broadcast time, the suspected wizard was reportedly being held at the local police post.
Meanwhile, a resident of Banda-Masauko area in Kanyama constituency has called on the authorities to come up with a law that will criminalize witchcraft.
