SUSPECTED PF CADRES ATTACK CHILESHES’S HOUSE

Suspected PF cadres last evening attacked the Woodlands home of UPND Mayoral candidate Kangwa Chileshe but were thwarted by alert security personnel from his party.
The attackers who allegedly threw all kind of missiles at the house of Chileshe however fled the scene when his security from the UPND repelled the attack.
Mr Chileshe has confirmed the incident and said his wife and children were in the house at the time of the attack but that they were unhurt though traumatised.
He has since condemned the alleged political violence and called for peaceful campaigns ahead of the July 26 by-elections.
Meanwhile, Police spokesperson Esther Katongo says police have not received any such report of Mr Kangwa’s house being attacked by suspected PF cadres.
Mrs Katongo however said that the only report Police at Woodlands Police received was from UPND Chairperson for elections Silvia Masebo who reported a case of being trailed by suspected PF cadres.
She said police officers rushed to the same area and did not find anyone at the said place.
