The affected areas that experienced a power blackout at around 20:40 hours included the National Assembly, UNZA, Mass Media, Roma and other surrounding areas.
Zesco spokesperson Henry Kapata however says the power utility firm swiftly responded to the power outage and found an alternative line to supply power to the affected areas.
Mr Kapata however says some areas still do not have power as the alternative sources of power supply can only service a few customers.
He has however assured the affected customers that engineers from the power utility firm are on the ground investigating what caused the tripping.
