Siavonga District Commissioner Lovemore Kanyama has warned of stern action against Bars operating outside their stipulated opening and closing time.

Mr Kanyama says the local authority is concerned with the non-compliance by some bars with council regulations such as playing music to levels where it becomes a nuisance to the general public.

He says he has received complaints from residents of Siavonga over the noise pollution being caused by some bars owners.

The Siavonga DC has since directed the council to close down bars that will be operating outside the stipulated time and also punish bar owners.

Meanwhile, Mr Kanyama has assured residents and motorists that the remaining part between Kanyelele and Kariba Inns road will be worked on in the next few days as the Road Development Agency (RDA) is mobilizing to move in and finish up the construction works.
