SCHOOL AUTHORITIES ASKED NOT TO SEND AWAY PUPILS WHO NOT PAID SCHOOL FEES

BY KALALUK MUSHAUKWA
The Zambia Nation Teachers Union-ZNUT has appealed to school authorities to desist from sending away pupils who have not paid the school fees.
In an interview with Komboni radio news, ZNUT Public and international relations director Joe Kasaka says School authorities should not send away pupils for not settling their school fees on time as this affects their performance.
Mr. Kasaka has instead recommended that government schools should work out a payment system that will allow pupils to clear their tuition fees without disturbing their academic calendar.
Meanwhile Mr. Kasaka has appealed to Government to deploy more teachers in order balance the teacher-pupil ratio that has continued to affect the quality of education being offered in public schools.
