The Road and Transport Safety Agency has with immediate effect suspended the operating license of Mazhandu family bus services following an accident that happened in Kabwe yesterday where 10 lives were lost.
RTSA Chief Executive officer Zindaba Soko announced at a media briefing today that Mazhandu road safety profile has deteriorated over the years resulting in loss of life.
Mr Soko disclosed that preliminary findings in yesterday’s accident have revealed that the accident was caused by over speeding.
He however explained that the bus had a mechanical faulty the previous day but management neglected to correct it.
And The RTSA Chef Executive officer has disclosed that Mazhandu has failed to address the challenge of over speeding among its drivers despite several engagements with the agency.
