RTSA PUSHING FOR THE ENACTMENT OF THE LAW TO COMPEL DRIVERS TO BE TRAINED BY A RECOGNISED DRIVING SCHOOL

By OSCAR NKHUWA
The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) says it is pushing for the enactment of a law that will make it mandatory for drivers in Zambia to be trained through a driving school in a move aimed at improving the quality of drivers.
RTSA Head of Public Relations Frederick Mubanga has told Komboni radio news that the agency has partnered with other stakeholders such as TEVETA and the Zambia Driving Schools Association to come up with a new drivers and instructors manual.
And Mr. Mubanga has also cautioned all road users in the country to avoid unnecessary traffic accidents by celebrating responsibly during this period of the under 20 AFCON tournament which the country is hosting.
He warned that the agency will not hesitate to deal with erring motorists who will be contravening the road traffic rules with impunity.
