Some concerned residents in Lusaka have welcomed the move to remove empty trading stalls from the failed Tokyo way market.

James Mbao says people were allocated trading spaces after being removed from the streets and some from the gutted Lusaka city market but could not take up the stands.

Mr Mbao says it is high time the authorities came up with a more viable project for the land along Tokyo way than leaving it to a few people with most traders getting back to the streets.

Another resident only identified as Black says the traders have resorted to trading along the Rail line stretching from Kamwala south through Misisi to Kamwala trading centre a situation he says needs to be addressed.
