Some Lusaka residents have welcomed the announcement by the ministry of Health to introduce assistant nurses in all health facilities.
Speaking in separate interviews with Komboni radio news, the residents have observed that the move will help improve service delivery in hospitals unlike the current situation where general workers assist nurses and doctors.
The residents charged that some patients have ended up being given wrong medication because nurses ask general workers to give medicines to patients.
Ms Mercy Mulenga has since urged government through the ministry of health to ensure that this move is quickly implemented.
