RESIDENTS URGED TO FORM NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH TEAMS TO HELP AVERT CRIME IN COMMUNITIES

The Zambia Police Service has appealed to the public to ensure that they form neighborhood Watch teams to help avert crime in communities.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo says the police are ready to train the neighborhood watch teams that will also help in conducting night patrols in various communities.
Mrs. Katongo adds that the police want to partner with the community in efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security in various communities in order to safeguard lives.
The police spokesperson was responding to continued calls by members of the public on the police to intensify night patrols following the escalating crime levels in most communities in Lusaka.
Members of the public have continued to appeal to the police to intensify night patrols in order to curb crime that has become rife in most communities.
