Residents of George compound ran amok and smashed windows of the house belonging to a named woman of the same area on suspicions that she is behind the disappearance of a 4 year old girl.
Eye witnesses narrated to a Komboni Radio News crew that visited the community that the girl went missing on Monday morning in unclear circumstances.
The residents suspect that the old woman whom they accused of practicing witchcraft is behind the disappearance of the toddler.
The eye witness narrated that some residents earlier mobilized themselves and decided to confront the old woman to release the child to its parents.
But after the woman in question refused to release the child, the angry mob become unruly and smashed windows to her house.
However, quick action from the police prevented the mob from completely destroying her house.
By broadcast time, the victim was reportedly at Matero Police station.
Residents have however maintained that they will not rest until the woman in question surrenders the baby to its parents.
