Residents of Lusaka’s Chunga Township have bemoaned the poor sanitary conditions in the holding cells at the local police post.
The residents have complained to Komboni Radio news that toilets in the holding cells at Chunga Police Post leaves much to be desired as they are in a deplorable state.
They have disclosed that the there is no running water in the said toilets; a situation they say is posing a serious health hazard to inmates.
The residents have since appealed to the ministry of Home Affairs to urgently address this problem which they said is not peculiar to Chunga Police Post alone, but to most police stations across the country.
