RESIDENTS ACCUSE COUNCIL OF FAILING TO CONTROL THE MUSHROOMING OF ILLEGAL BARS

Some Lusaka residents have accused the local authority of failing to control the mushrooming of illegal bars in the city.

The residents have wondered why some bars that were earlier shut down in an effort aimed at curbing the outbreak of Cholera have been reopened despite failing to meet the health standards.

The residents have charged that a lot of bars in communities are operating without proper toilets a situation that puts the health of their patrons at risk of contracting waterborne diseases.

They have since urged the council to move in and clamp down on bars that are operating in poor sanitary conditions.
