The Zambia Police Service has warned of stern action against people behind the vandalism of water tanks installed in various communities within Lusaka in efforts aimed at improving the supply of clean water.
Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo says the police have received reports of vandalism of water tanks and has since appealed to members of the public with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the police.
Mrs. Katongo says the act is a drawback to efforts being made by government aimed at curbing the Cholera Pandemic.
She has since warned that those founding wanting will face the wrath of the law.
The police spokesperson added that the Police Command has since directed officers to extend their patrols to places where the water tanks have been erected.
