Police have launched investigations into a video that has gone viral on social media where a purported Petauke man was sexually abusing an unconscious woman while filming the ordeal.
Police spokesperson Esther Katongo who confirmed the development charged that the conduct by the man who filmed and posted the video is a violation of human rights and above all criminal.
Mrs Katongo has therefore appealed to the victim not to shy-away from the Police as it has been a case in such matters but to avail herself to Police so that a statement can be recorded from her.
Mrs Katongo has further appealed to relatives of the victim and those that may know her, to encourage her to go to any nearest Police Station and give information on what transpired on the material day.
She has charged that the Police will not relent in arresting all those that would want to commit crimes using social media and warned would be offenders to stay away from such acts or risk being arrested and prosecuted.
Meanwhile, the Non-Governmental Gender Organizations’ Coordinating Council (NGOCC) says it is deeply saddened by the conduct of the man in the video who was sexually abusing the unconscious woman.
NGOCC Programs Manager Chilufya Siwale has described the ordeal as the worst form of indignity against a fellow human being especially against a woman.
Ms Siwale has described the act as disgusting as the man took advantage of the unconsciousness of the woman to sexually abuse her.
She has since appealed to the police to ensure that the culprit is quickly brought to book.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, a man filmed a naked drunk woman and fondled her private parts while inviting other men to join him.
The man is further head boasting that he had bought a lot of beer to intoxicate the average aged woman.
