Parents in Lusaka’s Kabwata Township have expressed concern over some named night clubs and bars at KCC that are allegedly allowing underage children to patronize their premises.
Mr Geoffrey Mubanga says it is unfortunate that some night clubs and bars at KCC are disregarding their licences with impunity and are allowing children to consume alcohol in their premises.
Mr. Mubanga complained that the said place has become too open such that underage children can just walk in and freely buy alcohol without being questioned.
And Mr. Friday Mwansa has called on parents to monitor the movements of their children and ensure that they are found in the right places at the right time.
The parents have since appealed to the local authority to extend their operations to the community and round up all underage children who will be found patronizing drinking places.
And when contacted Kabwata ward 6 Councilor, Longa Chiboboka said he is equally concerned about some clubs that are allowing children to patronize their premises and urged them to desist from such acts.
The Civic leader has since warned the local authority will not hesitate to revoke licences for night clubs that are allowing children to patronize their premises.
