Some concerned parents in Lusaka have bemoaned what they termed as exorbitant school fees being charged in government schools.
And the parents have appealed to government through the ministry of general education to intervene and ensure that school fees are affordable.
In an interview with Komboni radio news, one parent who declined to be named complained that her child has not yet reported for school after she passed to go to grade eight owing to the exorbitant fees being demanded by the school authorities.
She also lamented that other school requirements such as school uniforms are also being sold at exorbitant prices, making it difficult for many parents to send their children to school.
