Pakrite Zambia has fired some parking marshals that were seconded to the company by the Lusaka City Council (LCC).
The visibly annoyed employees who stormed Komboni radio this afternoon alleged that they had been fired based on flimsy grounds.
This is despite having been given assurance of job security by the local authority at the time they were being seconded to Pakrite.
The employees, who declined to be named for fear of victimization, also complained of poor working condition during their tenure at Pakrite Zambia.
The former Pakrite employees have since demanded that the running of the parking spaces be given back to the council adding that the company in question has not been remitting contributions to NAPSA despite deducing from their salaries.
And in one of the letters of termination availed to Komboni radio news signed by Pakrite acting chief executive officer Felix Silungwe, the company stated that termination of contracts is as a result of its plan to implement work force reduction to the automated system.
Mr. Silungwe also cited underperformance by the fired employees as another contributing factor to the termination of their contracts.
And when contacted for a comment Pakrite public relations officer Phindile Mpofu attributed the termination of contracts to under-performance by the employees.
