Out-grower farmers in Kasama’s Luabwe area have been urged to grow more Soya beans in a bid to meet the high demand in the region.
Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) Board Chairman Kasuka Mutokwa says soya beans out-growers need to expand their hactarage if they are to meet the local demand for stock-feed processing industries.
Dr. Mutokwa has since pledged to provide soya beans out-growers with a tractor in a bid to enhance yield.
Dr Mutokwa said this yesterday when he toured some soya-beans fields in Lwabwe village.
He was accompanied by CEEC Director General Likando Mukumbuta and Northern Province CEEC Coordinator Walusungu Banda.
