The deceased mother Bridget Kumwenda and grandfather Mosses Chama confirmed the sad development.
The duo narrated that the girl went missing on Saturday around 14:00 hours when she went with her mother to buy slippers within the neighborhood and was only found dead around 16:00 hours in a maize field.
They said the girl was found dead by the owner of the field which is some 200 meters away from her place.
