NDC BEMOANS DELAYS TO COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION OF CHIEF’S PALACES

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is concerned with delays by government to complete the construction of chief’s palaces countrywide.

NDC General Secretary Mwenya Musenge says it is unfortunate that the construction of the 288 palaces started by late President Michael Sata in 2014 and was earmarked for completion in 2016 has not been completed to date.

Mr Musenge charged that over One point Two billion kwacha was set aside for this well meaning project and has since challenged government to explain to Zambians why the construction of decent accommodation for traditional leaders has stalled under the current PF leadership.

He has charged that it is regrettable that traditional leaders have been subjected to live under stressful and deteriorating conditions.

The NDC General Secretary has since urged government to quickly source for funds to complete the construction of chief’s palaces across the country.
