MUNYAULE MARKET TRADERS IN CHALALA AREA DENY CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS AT THE TRADING PLACE

Traders at Lusaka’s Munyaule Market in Chalala-Shantumbu area have refuted allegations that corruption has marred the running of the trading place.

The traders have charged that some power angry individuals are trying to fight the current market chairman.

The traders have told komboni radio news that contrary to allegations that the market chairman has squandered money raised from the rental and daily levies, the market has not been able to raise enough money.

And the traders are happy that the process of installing electricity at the trading place and the construction of the toilets are progressing well.

The traders have since urged people with selfish ambitions not to politicize the running of the market.

And when contacted for a comment, Market chairman Joseph Chisanga declined to comment on corruption allegation against him by Mr Matthews Kavindele saying that he has taken the matter to court.

In a letter written to the Anti-Corruption Commission and copied to Komboni radio News, Mr Kavindele called on the commission to investigate alleged corrupt activities at Munyaule Market.

Ends/MP.
