MTENDERE RESIDENTS REPEAT CALLS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PIPED WATER

Residents of Lusaka’s Mtendere compound have repeated calls on the authorities to install piped water in that area.

The residents have complained to Komboni Radio News that the absence of piped water has proved to be challenging for residents as they are forced to cover long distances in search of the commodity.

Mrs Judy Njovu lamented that women are forced to wake up as early as 03 hours to queue up for water at the nearest water Kiosks.

Another resident Mambwe Banda appealed to their area councilor to facilitate for the installation of piped water in that community in order to mitigate the challenges people face in accessing clean and safe drinking water.

She also complained that the One Kwacha that people are made to pay for a 20 litre container of water is proving to be expensive for people with bigger families.
