Residents of Lusaka’s Mtendere “A” compound have bemoaned the contaminated water that is being supplied to that community.
The residents have lamented that the water being supplied by the Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company is not properly treated as most residents complain of diarrhea after drinking the same water.
Mrs Melody Nsombwe explained to a Komboni Radio News crew that visited the community today that residents only started complaining of diarrhea after water supply was restored following a week of erratic water supply.
She says residents suspect that the water that is being supplied now is contaminated as everyone in the community is complaining of stomach upsets after drinking water.
And Mr David Kambole has since appealed to the water utility firm to address the matter and ensure that the water being supplied is properly treated.
But when contacted, Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company Public relations officer Nshamba Muzungu expressed ignorance over the matter.
Mr Muzungu says the water utility firm always ensures that the water is properly treated before it is distributed and stated that there could be something else that is causing stomach problems in that community.
