MNT URGES GOVERNMENT TO PROTECT ZAMBIANS FROM BEING DISPLACED BY FOREIGNERS

The Movement for National Transformation (MNT) has urged government to protect Zambians from being displaced by foreigners who have continued to buy land especially in rural areas.
MNT President Pastor Daniel Shimunza says his party is concerned that government seems to have remained silent on the continued land displacements of the vulnerable in society.
The opposition leader charged that apart from the country’s debt burden, the PF government has also failed to enhance the governance system.
Pastor Shimunza has charged that this can be seen by the failure by current government to institute the separation of powers among institutions such as the judiciary, legislature and executive.
Among the areas where land displacements have been recorded include Chichele in Ndola Rural were over 1000 people have been left in the cold.
This was after a foreign investor, golden lay company, bought 3,000 hectares of land in Chichele in Ndola.
The affected residents have since appealed to the government through their MP to intervene in the matter and protect them such injustices
And the area Member of Parliament Jonas Chanda has pledged to follow up the matter with the relevant government departments.
