The body of a 23 year old man who drowned in Luapula River in Milenge District has been retrieved.
Luapula Province Commissioner, Elias Chushi confirmed who the incident has identified the deceased as Abel Chanda of Lusambo Village in Chief Sokontwe’s area.
Mr. Chushi explained that the deceased went fishing on Luapula River with another person identified as Derrick Mumba aged 18, of the same village when their canoe capsized.
The Police Chief said Mumba managed to swim and survived.
He further said the body of the deceased has since been buried.
