MAZHANDU BUS SERVICES APPEALS AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF ITS SERVICE LICENCE

BY SYLVESTER KAUMBA
Mazhandu Family Bus services has appealed the indefinite suspension of
it operations by the Road Transport and Safety Agency-RTSA.
Mazhandu Bus services lawyer Tutwa Ngulube says the appeal which has
been lounged to the minister of Transport and Communications is the
first step before considering taking the matter to court.
Mr Ngulube says RTSA allegedly over stretched its intervention measure
by suspending the service licence for the company.
Mr. Ngulube says the company has every right to appeal the decision by
RTSA saying the accident involving one bus should not amount to
killing the business through the action taken by RTSA.
RTSA yesterday announced that it has suspended the service licence for
Mazhandu family bus services following its deteriorating accident
record.
RTSA Chief Executive Officer Zindaba Soko disclosed that preliminary
findings in Tuesday’s accident have revealed that the accident was
caused by over speeding.
